About
Hello! My name is Megan and I started this hobby business in 2022 to help fund my older dog's medical expenses as she gracefully ages and enjoys retirement as well as my young dog's sport and work career. I have a full time job, but I am open to photography sessions year-round outside of my work hours. Photography has been a creative outlet for me since I was little and I have focused on improving my pet-specific photography for the last seven years. I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my work and capture memories for you and your pet just as I have for my own.
Meet "The Girls"
My older dog, Jewel, is a nine year old adopted catahoula-mix dog who has lived with me through many phases of both of our lives. She came to me at 1.5 years old after being returned to the shelter, and the rest is history. I am so grateful to have her in my life and provide her the most comfortable and fulfilling retirement possible. As Jewel grows older, she has and will have greater medical expenses. In November 2023, we found out Jewel cracked one of her teeth during a routine exam, and it will need surgical intervention. During this exam I also had our vet test two new lumps to make sure they were not cancerous (they came back negative, yay!) and asked for an x-ray on one of her front elbows which has caused increasingly frequent limping.
My younger dog, Xeric, is a two year old working line German shepherd who was planned for three years, and I have enjoyed every second with her since the moment we met--and we have spent A LOT of time together. In the first year she was in my care, I spent nearly 1000 hours on JUST training with her. Since I am pursuing both sport and working venues with Xeric, I spend a significant amount of my income from my full time job on workshops and seminars to learn and improve my training and our communication. In November 2023, at the same routine exam as Jewel, Xeric had a positive marker for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease, and further testing was done to determine whether the infection was active. Xeric did not show any recognizable symptoms except a decreased appetite at this time.
